The young woman was just calling in a local call stand on the sidewalk. For me, I could not distinguish that the telephone on the table was a public telephone at first because the shape was same as what I had in my home.
A clock was placed beside the telephone equipment. It was used to hold the clock on how long the customers were calling to calculate the fee. The procedure was primitive so much. A mug was also put on the table. So she seemed to expect to have a long phone chat.
