There were many people on the platform of Phaya Lan Train Station in Yangon. Some of them were waiting for the train, and some of them were peddlers with big baskets. The peddlers were waiting for the train like everyone else. They get on the train and go about their business inside. They did unofficial sales aboard a train. I wondered what kind of fare system was applied to such people. They might have some kind of commuter pass.
In contrast to the many people on this side of the platform, the platform on the other side was deserted. There were benches under the roof, and on the walls I could see advertisements for an American drinking water company. These advertisements reminded me of the many foreign companies that have entered Myanmar since economic sanctions were lifted.
A young woman dressed in red was sitting alone on a bench. She was lying on her back holding a black bag and waiting for the train to arrive. She was probably going somewhere, but she didn't look like she was going somewhere fun.
