Shy Woman

Woman smiling bashfully

The woman smiled bashfully

Shot in the city of Yangon, Myanmar.

Taking photos of a young Kun seller working on the sidewalk, I noticed a woman standing behind the seller. She looked like as is she was a standby person. Seemingly, she was a colleague and a spouse of tattooed Kun seller. While she stood still against the wall of the building, she watched silently her husband working.

Of course, she knew that her husband was taken some photos by me. However, she might doubt that she became also a photographic subject. When I focused on her, she got shy. And she started to look at my camera from the corners of her eyes with a bashful smile at the corner of her mouth. She wore a golden neckless and pastel-colored clothes. By way of contrast to her modest smile, colorful flowers were blooming in profusion on her clothes.
