Most people working in the inner market were male. Because they had to carry heavy objects, for example big tunas, the job in the market might be a man's work basically. Yet there were also women. A movement toward gender equality also came here.
The woman in this photo wore an apron and worked with men. She wanted to put a foam carton on the rack. Yet it was too high for her. Then, a man came to her and help her. After the job was done. They walked away in amity.
