The street I was walking down in Malacca was lined with two-story houses. One of them was a small shop. The name of the shop was written in both Latin and Chinese characters on a large signboard. The owner of the shop must be a Chinese resident. Like other major cities in South East Asia, there is a Chinatown in the city of Malacca.
The word "Kopi" was written in Latin characters on both sides of the big signboard. Kopi means "coffee" in Malaysian and Indonesian languages. Apparently, this place seemed to be a general store that sold drinks and so on.
A window on the second floor was open, and an older man was leaning out. He was reaching out and doing something. I didn't know what he was doing.
