Locust On The Table

Edible locust

The locust was edible

Shot in Central Yangon, Myanmar.

During walking the streets in the city center, I saw many street vendors on the sidewalks. The sidewalks were bustling and people seemed to enjoy a boom. The woman in this photo was one of them.

She was crouching beside her table. And saute locusts were piled up on the table. Of course, they were edible. The locals had a custom to eat insects. Although locusts were also eaten in a part of Japan, I have never ate.
