There was a house on the banks of the Ayeyarwady River, which runs beside the town of Pyay. There was a bicycle parked next to the house. It was not equipped with an assist function, nor was it stylish. It looked like a bicycle used for newspaper delivery. I don't know if there is a newspaper delivery service in Myanmar.
I wasn't really looking at the bicycle, but as I stood there in a daze, a boy came in front of the bicycle. He started posing with one foot on the stone and one hand on the pillar of the house. He looked like he just wanted to have his picture taken like many other children, or like he was standing in front of his precious bicycle, wary of being stolen by a strange foreigner. Perhaps it was both.
