Jizo In Hasedera

Jizo statue with drooping eyes

All the Jizo statues had droopy eyes

Shot at Hasedera, a Buddhist temple in Kamakura, Kanagawa.

Many statues of Ksitigarbha were lined up in the precinct. These statues were called 'Jizo' in Japan. All of them were smiling and holding a sacred gem with both hands.
