When I came to a lane in Jakarta, there were many people other than a father who was holding his young daughter in his arms. This alleyway seemed to be a hangout for the locals. Some of them were standing and talking, others were laying down. But there was no sense of unity among the people here. They were spending their time here with their own ideas.
When I looked around, there were both children and elderly people. It was the middle of the day on a weekday, but there were fathers who seemed to be earning money for their families. The narrow alleyway where many people lingered around was filled with a languid atmosphere. It was as if time was passing slowly here, with everyone taking their time.
In one such alleyway, two little girls were sitting by the side of the road, chatting away with each other, enjoying a snack. The only sound in the quiet alleyway was the whispering of their conversations. They were chatting idly, but they looked like the girls themselves. They must have been gossiping in their youth. Girls everywhere love to talk.
They say that there is a gender difference between the male and female brain. Looking at children in various countries, I can't help but feel that there is certainly a difference in behavior between boys and girls. Girls seem to be more talkative and more interested in making themselves look beautiful than boys from an early age. Some people believe that male and female brains are related not only to gender but also to gender roles, but I wonder what is really going on.
