The Ningxia Night Market is lined with stalls selling a wide variety of food. Among them, there was a stall selling sushi. As a Japanese visitor, I wouldn't think of eating sushi here, but there were still a few locals who bought sushi here and there.
As I walked among the stalls, I could hear people ordering from all over the place. The people at the stalls were busy responding to the calls, but they were doing their jobs with aplomb. A woman with a red apron caught my eye. A round piece of dough was laid out in front of her, and she placed the ingredients on top of it. Her hands were surprisingly quick and without hesitation.
The night market is crowded, hot, and full of a unique energy. On the other hand, when I stopped, I also felt a strange quietness. Through the sounds of people's voices and footsteps, I thought I could hear something like the breath of the night itself.
