I stopped on a pedestrian bridge in front of Oji Station and looked out at the street below me. There was a crosswalk nearby, and when the light turned green, a large number of pedestrians stirred above. Some walked to the right, some to the left. Once the traffic light turned red, the pedestrians disappeared from the streets, and the world was once again dominated by cars.
Even in the 21st century, cars are still running the big roads with proprietary air. In the books I read as a child, cars of the 21st century were flying in the sky, but in reality, cars are still crawling on the ground. Technological innovation did not develop as people had imagined.
