There was a clay charcoal stove on the street in front of the diner, and a young woman with long hair tied up in a bun was sitting beside it. The woman with tongs in her hand was cooking something on the stove. I don't know if they don't have kitchens in the restaurants here in Ho Chi Minh City, or if they are cooking outside because it's too hot inside the buildings, but I often see them cooking on the street in front of their stores.
No one was at the tables in the dining room yet, so the women seem to be preparing for the opening. I couldn't tell what she was cooking, but there was a delicious smell around the clay charcoal stove, and my stomach responded with a grumbling sound.
