While wandering around the alleys in Ho Chi Minh City, you will come across many people. Perhaps it's because it's hot and humid in their homes, but many of them are cooling off at their front doors. The older woman in the photo was one such person relaxing on her front porch.
As she was sitting on her front porch, she noticed a gentile coming out of nowhere down a narrow alley. Our eyes met. When I pointed my camera at her, she gave me an old, wrinkled smile.
By analogy with her age, this older woman must have lived through the Vietnam War. Her wrinkled smile was not just a smile, but a smile that must have experienced everything, sour and sweet.
