worshipers walking approach way
Shot at Yushima Tenman-Gu, a Shinto shrine in Yushima, Tokyo tetsuOzawa

The precinct was crowded with the wprshipers

The Shintoism is a polytheistic religion. There are many deities in this country. And every Shinto shrine enshrines some deities, The deity enshrined here is Sugawara no Michizane who was an actual person died in 903 and is thought as the deity of academic achievements. So many students preparing for an exam come to pray for their acceptance.

When I visited, it was not the time for the exams. Yet the precinct was crowded. It was the season for Chichi-Go-San, a traditional rite of passage in Japan.
