The railroad situation in Kawagoe is complicated. People who live in Kawagoe might think I am talking about something obvious, but for people like me who are not familiar with it, it is complicated. The reason is simple. If you want to go to Kawagoe by train, you don't know which station to go to. In the downtown area alone, there are three stations, Kawagoe Station, Kawagoe-shi Station, and Hon-Kawagoe Station, and each station is in a delicate location. Although they are within walking distance of each other, they are a little far from each other. If you include the stations that are far from downtown, the Nishi-Kawagoe station is like a trap waiting to mislead the stranger.
Why did they build stations with similar names in similar places? The Hon-kawagoe station on the Seibu Shinjuku Line stands in the way, as if to say that this is the real Kawagoe, while the JR Kawagoe station looks as if it is the original, as if there is really a battle for the original. However, when I arrived at Kawagoe-shi station, it was quiet. It was as if the two stations had been pushed into a corner and were quietly passing the time without being involved in the conflict. The photo is of the platform at Kawagoe-shi station.
