As the name suggests, Mae Klong Railway Market is a market where stores stand side by side with actual railroad tracks. Shoppers walk on the tracks instead of the train. I too wandered along the tracks and looked at what was for sale. There seemed to be more stores selling souvenirs for tourists than when I visited before. However, I was relieved to find some stores selling daily necessities and foodstuffs for the locals. The store in the photo was one of the local stores. Vegetables are laid out in front of the store.
On the other side of the vegetables was a table where an elderly woman was sitting. She must be the owner of this store. But she was not looking at any of the people passing in front of the store. She was holding a plastic bag of onions in her hand and looking around at her feet. It seems that the old woman has dropped the onions in her hand and is looking for them.
There is a large measuring cup in the store. On top of it was a plastic bag of onions. The old woman was probably packing the onions in a bag and weighing them. In doing so, she must have dropped the onions and the search must have begun.
