For some reason, the platform at the Inubo station was trying to create a Southern European atmosphere

Connecting Choshi Station and Tokawa Station, Choshi Electric Railway has ten stations in a mere 6.4 km. The Choshi station looks like an add-on to JR station, while others seem to have been left behind in the Showa period (1926-1989). Among them, Inubo Station, the closest station to the Inubosaki Lighthouse, was a Western-style construction that betrayed my expectations in a good way.

The platform has a wall or fence, which I am not sure if it is necessary or not, and is decorated with tiles. The atmosphere reminded me of southern Europe rather than rural Chiba. The Inubo Station is said to have been built in the style of a Portuguese palace. When one thinks of palaces in southern Europe, the first thing that comes to mind is the Alhambra Palace in Spain, which is a World Heritage site. But Choshi Dentetsu does not pay attention to such a major presence. While I admire their sophistication, I wonder why they chose Portugal. If Choshi Dentetsu wanted to create the atmosphere of a seaside tourist spot, it could have been in Italy, Greece, or Croatia, not in Portugal.
