I watched the beach alone. The sandy beach of Midigama stretched far into the distance. Palm trees were planted along the beach, perhaps as a shelter from the wind. I looked out into the surf and saw a stilt fishing pole. It was a windy day and the waves were high, so there were no people stilt fishing and no one playing on the beach. The scene made me feel as if I had come here on the wrong day.
And then a mother and her child appeared on the beach. They start strolling side by side on the deserted beach. Except for me, they were the only people on the beach.
