Two women clasped their hands together under a blue sky at the golden stupa of Wat Saket
On the top of the steep artificial hill, a golden stupa was towering into the sky. Unlike in Japan, every Buddhist temple was lavished with gold in Bangkok. Of course, there are also many stupa or pagoda in Japan. Yet most of the traditional architectures were wooden architectures. The stupa was bathed in a golden light. Watching the step, I felt as if I was granted my wish when I prayed here.
The place was not only for the tourists. Many locals came to pray. Two young women in this photo also came here to pray. They sat on the bench together and pressed their hands while they faced the golden stupa with a serious face. They seemed to have some wishes, which they hope came true.
