Older Woman In Front Of An Altar

Older woman praying

An old woman was just praying in front of an altar

Shot at Mangkon Kamalawat Temple, a Buddhist temple in Bangkok, Thailand.

I always wonder why many altars were built in Chinese temples. Perhaps, the divine favors depend on the altars. Yet it is difficult to choose which I should pray. The proper way might okay in front of every altar.

Among the rest, there were many altars in this Mangkon Kamalawat Temple. An older woman stood in front of one the altars. And she had a bundle of papers in her hand like other worshipers. I didn't know what the bundle was. Yet it was a necessary article to pray here. Everybody stood in front of the altars had such kind of things. In the meantime, the older woman started to pray while she flapped the bundle.
