I was walking in the Glodok district in Jakarta. This is Chinatown. Therefore, there are several Chinese temples in this area. As I was making my way through the streets where only locals were walking, I was also aiming for a Chinese temple.
As I made my way through the alleyways of the local market toward the temple I was aiming for, I came to a place where mobile food stalls were lined up. But few of them were open. In fact, there were almost none. I wondered if they only open at night. There were a number of empty mobile stalls set up on the side of the road.
A man was sleeping in one of the stalls. I felt like I had hit the jackpot.
The man looked like he had just woken up and looked at me with sleepy eyes. When he noticed the camera in my hand, he gave me a quick thumbs-up and a bashful smile.
