A stone paved road ran in the residential area. This old road connects between the Shuri Castle, where the king of the Ryukyu dynasty lived and Naha harbor or other southern directions. After arriving the harbor, the Imperial Chinese missions to Ryukyu Kingdom rolled through this road to the castle. It might be built to show the majesty of the kingdom.
Though most part of the road was destroyed during WWII, the road was well preserved. When I walked, it was deserted. I placed feet flat on the ground and felt the bygone days.
