The man in this photo was working in the castle. He was wearing an old formal dress of Ryukyu. Ryukyu was the old name of Okinawa.

The dress was as alike as Kimono. Yet the cap he wore was completely different from what people wore in the mainland of Japan. I thought it was also different from the Chinese style. The culture of Okinawa could be developed between Chinese culture and Japanese culture.
