The alleyways in the old quarter were narrow and flanked by the brick buildings. The sunlight didn't come to the ground, even in the daytime. When I was rambling along one of such alleyways, I found a street lamp hung on the wall. Its design was orthodox. And it was waiting for the night coming conservatively in the deserted alley.
I thought it was always wrapped by the dimness until the quarter had access to power.
