The food stall I entered was a jackpot. The snacks were all delicious, and after filling my stomach, I was completely satisfied. This gave me the energy to go strolling through the market again. Before leaving the stall, I wanted to somehow convey this feeling of satisfaction to the shopkeeper.
I approached a man who was busily working with a front hanging. Not being able to speak Chinese at all, I tried my best to convey my impressions of the food with gestures, saying, “It was delicious”. The man seemed to have understood my poor expression and smiled happily. He then gave me a thumbs up with a big smile. That gesture and his beautiful smile made me feel even more satisfied.
