Tokyo Tower stretched toward the sky

For me, born and raised in Tokyo, the tower with this shape is the Tokyo Tower. I was quite surprised when I found out that the shape of this tower is exactly the same as the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

The resemblance is striking. If Eiffel, the designer of the Eiffel Tower, or his family had the copyright to the design, I would be worried that they would be sued. In any case, I feel that if they were to make the design so similar to the original in the 21st century, it would be inevitably inflamed. One of the few differences between the Tokyo Tower and the original is its height, which is only slightly higher than the Eiffel Tower.

The reason why Tokyo Tower was built in the first place was to prevent a forest of TV towers. It was the 1950s. TV stations were opening one after another in Tokyo, and each station was transmitting from its own tower. In such a situation, it was decided that a comprehensive radio tower was necessary to consolidate the radio towers of each station in order to meet the future demand for television. However, with the opening of the Tokyo Skytree, the radio transmission station was moved to the Skytree, and the Tokyo Tower became a backup radio tower to the present.
