As I was wandering around the precincts of Zojo-ji Temple in Shiba, it started to rain. Despite my hopes that it would stop soon, the sky was getting darker and darker, and the rain was getting heavier and heavier. Umbrella flowers started to bloom here and there.
In the midst of all this, I saw an elderly couple with umbrellas walking toward the Sangedatsu-mon Gate. They were under the same umbrella and were walking slowly, slowly. It was as if their time was flowing more slowly than the time around them. The raindrops on their umbrellas must have been falling slowly.
