Many people open their shops on the side of the street in traffic. Here in Jakarta, too, there are people who have a shop and do business, and there are also people who do business in a simple shop like a stall. The man in this photo was one of those who peddled in a stall-like shop. The man with a waist pouch was sitting down beside a large glass-walled stand and was working.
From the sticker on the stand, he seemed to be selling mobile phone SIMs here. He sold several types of SIMs, depending on the amount of data traffic. Smartphones are not a rare thing in Jakarta anymore. Everyone has one and spends his or her free time staring at the screen of the phone. I guess there is quite a demand for SIMs.
I looked at the ground in front of the man's stall and saw that one cat was also lying on the ground. It had a kind of stern look on its face and gave off an air that it wasn't simply resting there. This cat also seemed to be working at this stall with the man. Perhaps in synchronization with the stall owner's man crossing his legs, the cat was laying cross-legged on the cat and laying down with his paws crossed. They looked like a good combination.
