I was sitting in a cafe near the Oak Pho Su Station, relaxing with a cold drink. I was the only stranger there, and all the other customers were people who lived in the area. I don't know what they are talking about, but they are talking back and forth. They were probably making small talk. All the customers seemed to know each other. Thanlyin is a small town where everyone knows each other.
Meanwhile, a little girl comes into the cafe, accompanied by her grandmother. The elderly woman who took a seat next to me called out to the owner, who was a familiar face, and asked for a cup of tea. Unlike Thailand and Bangladesh, Myanmar's neighbors to the east and west, respectively, Myanmar is a country where green tea, as it is called in Japan, is drunk on a daily basis.
Unlike the old lady who started drinking tea, the girl in the photo did not drink anything. Instead, she was staring at me. Perhaps she was interested in a strange face in a store full of people she knew. When I pointed the camera at her, the girl was not intimidated, but kept looking at me curiously, sticking out her little tongue.
