Many foreign-capitalized stores did business in this area. Of course, there were also Japanese-capitalized stores. I saw Japanese-franchise-chained cafes, Japanese department stores, and so on. Besides, there was a Japanese bookstore. The books and magazines written in Japanese were sold. I wondered whether they were under requisition in Thailand. Maybe, the correspondents of Japanese companies bought them. Although to watch familiar shops was interesting, it was not what I wanted to do during traveling. I wanted to see something which I couldn't see in my country.
In that way, I was attracted the artworks placed in spots in this area. The object in this photo was one of them. A huge female head was placed just in front of a stall. It could get into the workers' eye always. And the head stared at them with eyes open. It could be strange.
