A man was sitting on a bench by the roadside in Kolkata. He was sitting on the bench as if straddling it. He was holding a fan in his left hand and eating with his right hand. What he was eating was curry. That's India. Curry is being eaten all over the place.
The man grabbed the curry on the plate with his right hand and ate it with relish. Here in India, people don't use chopsticks, spoons, or forks. It is a common practice to eat with your bare hands. Moreover, the left hand is considered to be an impure hand, so like the man in this photo, people eat with only their right hand. This is unexpectedly difficult. Grabbing curry or rice is easy, but tearing roti is difficult.
