A small temple called Oubai-In was a short distance back from the main hall of Engaku-Ji. The precinct was quiet. When I walked around its small precinct, I found two small wooden Buddha statues. They were placed at the side of the path with a carelessness.
No roofs covered them and they were exposed to the rain when it rained. The wood carving in this photo was one of them. It was smiling. And some coins were placed as an offering on its chest.
