The sun was gradually lowering, and the platform of Nakameguro Station was quietly enveloped in shadow. Although the station is elevated, looking only at the dimly lit platform, I felt as if I were in a subway station.
As I stood there in a daze, I saw a train slowly entering the station from the distance. The sight of the train moving quietly, slowing down in the shade, was somehow peaceful and comforting. As I continued to watch the movement, the driver's seat of the train was just in the sun, and I could clearly see the driver's face for a brief moment. That brief moment remained strangely vivid in my mind.
