The tower stretching toward the sky in the photo is Seobuk Gongsimdon in Suwon Hwaseong in South Korea. Suwon Hwaseong, designated as a World Heritage Site, was a fortress built during the Joseon Dynasty (Joseon Yi Dynasty), and at strategic points along the more than 5km-long fortress wall, there are watchtowers called "Gongsimdon" to observe the surrounding fortress and the enemy in an emergency. Seobuk Gongsimdon in the photo is one of the three remaining Gongsimdon along with Nam Gongsimdon and Northeast Gongsimdon. It is said that Seobuk Gongsimdon was built in preparation for attacks from the direction of Hwaseomun.
