The structure in the photo is Janganmun, the main gate of Suwon Hwaseong. The term "Jangan" does not refer to Jangan, the capital of the Tang Dynasty in China, but simply to the capital. It is said that the king who came from Hanyang, the capital city, entered Hwaseong through this gate. The stone gate is huge and still retains its majesty.
When I looked beyond the gate, I saw people passing through the gate. Some were holding parasols. A man was sitting in the shade under the gate. Perhaps he was resting in the shade. Beyond the gate, I could see what looked like a further gate. It is the main gate, so it must be well-protected.
