The Ryutetsu Nagareyama Line is short. It takes only 11 minutes to travel from the first station to the last. There are only six stations on the line, and it was not long before I reached Mabashi Station after riding from Nagareyama Station. Here the train dropped off passengers and returned to Nagareyama.
This shortness is not enough for me to feel the travel experience of a local train. It was shorter than the time it takes me to walk from my home to the nearest station. Unfortunately, the view from the train window is not very attractive either. The Nagareyama Line is a single-track line, and while the cars and station buildings give a sense of travel, the scenery seen from the train windows is quite ordinary.
For those who use this short line regularly, this may be superfluous. However, for those who have traveled a long way to get on the train, it is a big problem. There are parts of the line where there is a creek, but unlike in the city center, there are residential areas everywhere. It runs neither through the city nor the countryside, but rather halfway between the two. Unless you are a huge railroad enthusiast, it may be difficult to feel satisfied just by riding this line.
