I planned to visit Chinatown in Bangkok on that day. According to Google Maps, there is a bus stop near my hotel and it is possible to take buses are heading for Chinatown. So I decided to take a local bus. Waiting at the bus stop, the bus was long time coming.
In such a case, it is very useful to use a free app called 'ViaBus'. It is jointly developed by Bangkok Mass Transit Authority and Chulalongkorn University. If you use this app, it becomes possible to inquire about the number of the bus to the destination and check the current place of the bus. The routes of the local bus in Bangkok are complex to strangers. However, It becomes able to ride and break the local buses with this app.
In the meantime, the bus which I waited for came. And I got on the local bus. I didn't afraid of missing my stop because I installed the app. The destination was very near.
