I was going to go to Chinatown. According to Google Maps, there is a bus route to Chinatown near the hotel. I decided to take the bus. It is a hurdle for travelers to take local buses, but there are some advantages to taking a bus. It is cheaper than taking the train, you can save money, you can see the scenery while traveling, and most importantly, you feel like a local.

I arrived at the bus stop and waited for the bus, but the bus didn't come. In such a case, there is a useful app called ViaBus. It was developed jointly by the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority and Chulalongkorn University. Using this app, you can check the bus route and the bus line number to your destination, and check the current location of the running bus in real time via GPS. Although Bangkok's bus routes are too complicated for travelers, this app makes it possible to master the buses.

In the meantime, the bus I wanted arrived. I boarded the bus and quietly headed toward my destination. Most of the time, I get nervous when I get on a bus because I don't know where I am going to get off, but with ViaBus, I don't have to worry about this. The current location of the bus is displayed in real time. You don't have to worry about missing a local bus any more.
