I was standing in the crosswalk of Oazo in Marunouchi. Not many people pass through the corridor. Perhaps few people even know that there is a corridor here. In contrast, there were a lot of people moving in the lower floor. I watched vaguely from above as the people stirred.
Sunlight was shining through the large glass walls, and the people walking by were all silhouetted against each other. The flow of people was unstoppable. Not even for a second did the flow stop. It was like the flow of a river.
The name of the facility, Oazo, is said to have the meaning of "oasis, place of rest" in Esperanto, but all the people in sight were moving towards somewhere else. From the many silhouettes moving about busily, I could not sense anything like an oasis or a place of rest.
