I passed by a house in Kolkata with a picture of a rough-looking man next to the door. He was holding a trident in his left hand and his right hand on his hip. His upper body was clad in nothing. This imposing man was Shiva. Shiva is one of the supreme gods in Hinduism, the god of destruction.
He stands so majestically next to the front door that he seems to be guarding the house. This would make it difficult for thieves to enter. I could just imagine thieves trying to get in, only to be skewered by Shiva's trident.
