When I walked the approach, a Shinto priest walked beside me. He wore a traditional costume for the priest.
He seemed like in a hurry and walked at a brisk trot. Because it was New Year's Eve, he could have a lot of the things to do. When the new year's day comes, the precinct becomes crowded with the worshipers who come to this shrine to make wishes for the coming year. So the Shinto priests were busy to prepare for the next day.
