A few worshipers were in the precinct of this shrine which enshrined Admiral Togo who was a hero in Japanese-Russo War. The shrine was located just nearby Takeshita-Dori street which was crowded with the people.

Yet most of them were not interested in this shrine. The precinct was quiet and the Shinto priests were preparing to get the new year started. Just in front of the prayer hall, a big circle was placed and a Shinto priest was raking the graveled precinct.
