As I was walking down a dimly lit, narrow alley in a residential neighborhood, a young woman walked up from the other side of the street. She was holding a baby in her arms. She was carrying what looked like a shopping cart at her side, but she did not look as if she was about to go shopping. She seemed to be protecting her precious baby from the oncoming depression. Where in the world was she headed?
There were bicycles and motorcycles parked off to the side in the alley, and laundry hung overhead, as if to match the air surrounding the woman. It was a messy atmosphere. Some pants were hanging inside.
