Bangladesh is a densely populated country. In Japan, it would be like having the population of the entire country living in an area the size of Hokkaido. Of course, there are many people living here in Mymensingh, and many cycle rickshaws run around the town to serve them. Riding a cycle rickshaw is the main means of transportation for the people of the town. Even for short distances, which I would consider to be walking, the locals take cycle rickshaws.
I can stand on the side of the road and watch the hordes of cycle rickshaws running by. The wheelmen were all pedaling in the heat, their wheels casting clear shadows on the road surface.
