When I was walking around Kolkata, I saw a lot of rickshaws parked on the side of the road. Every one of them was well-worn. It was not clear if they were rickshaws that have been sent for repair or were destined for scrapping.
I was not sure why, but once I leave Kolkata, I don't see rickshaws anymore. However, it's not like there are taxis or auto-rickshaws running around town. Instead of rickshaws, cycle-rickshaws just become the main form of transportation. From human-powered vehicles to human-powered vehicles. I'm not sure if it's evolving or not.
