When I was walking around Jakarta and Cirebon, I noticed that many people, both men and women, wore something on their heads. Because there are many Muslims, there are many women who cover their hair with hijabs or chadors, and of course, I see many men wearing hats. So many men wear hats that I see an old man wearing a Monster Energy cap.
In this photo, the man sitting on the seat of a becak waiting for a passenger is also wearing a cap, as is the man in the yellow T-shirt beyond him. Cirebon is located in Java, a tropical country in Indonesia, and there is no day that is cold and unbeatable without a hat. Maybe it's simply that many men around here don't feel comfortable without something on their heads when they go out.
In the midst of this situation, a baby appeared, snuggled in a carrier. While everyone else was wearing hats and hijabs, the baby was still wearing a knit cap. The knit cap with the pompoms on it was adorable. But wait a minute. This is Java Island, near the equator. No matter how cute it was, wouldn't it be too hot to be completely covered by a knit cap? I felt as if the baby was also feeling annoyed.
