Outside the cool Manila Cathedral, many horse-drawn carriages were parked in the shade nearby. Here, horse-drawn carriages are called kalesas. Manila Cathedral stands in an area called Intramuros, which corresponds to the old town of Manila. This is also a tourist area, so the carriages are probably for tourists.
Unfortunately, not many tourists came to Manila Cathedral on that day. But the coachmen were waiting patiently for their guests. A man on a bicycle passed by them in a friendly manner.
