I took a minibus and came to a small town called Mae Klong. It took one and half hour trip from Bangkok. The reason why I came here was that I heard a market was opened on the railway. Getting down from the minibus, I started to walk toward the railway track where the market was held. The city was a tranquil rural town.
Along the way to the market, I saw many pedicabs being parked by the roadside. Although I saw many cycle rickshaw in the South Asian subcontinent and many cyclo in Vietnam, I have never seen such human-powered vehicle in Thailand. And I was attracted by them. The drivers were waiting for customers coming in a leisurely pace. The shade-wearing man in this photo was one of them. When I held my camera, the man replied with his hand in the air cheerfully. By the way, these pedicabs were called samlor in this country. It means literally 'three wheels'.
