There was a sadhu in the corner of Durbar Square in Patan. A sadhu is a Hindu practice of yoga and wandering practitioners. Although sacred, there are many "tourist-oriented sadhus" who have nothing to do with their practice, but simply live by wearing sadhu clothes and forcing foreign tourists to take their photos for a fee, or arrogantly forcing them to give their pleasure.
When the sadhu in this photo spotted me, he approached me quickly and called out to me. Then he asked me to take a photo.
In light of the fact that he was looking for foreign tourists at a tourist attraction, it doesn't look as if he was practicing away from the mundane world. From the smile shown to me in exchange for pennies, I felt the atmosphere of tourist-oriented sadhus. The sign of devotion on his forehead may just be a decoration.
