A young man with a turban wrapped around his head and a whisker was leaning against a wall near the holy Godavari River, which flows through Nashik. He is a Hindu practitioner called a sadhu. He is dressed as if he had stepped out of Aladdin's lamp.
The sadhu wore large earrings in each ear. If you look closely, you will see that it is not just earrings. They were pierced ears, with holes in them so large that you could see them even from a little distance away. Is it part of his training to make such a large hole in his ears? I am not sure.
When I pointed the camera at the man, he gave me a blank stare. Perhaps he was in the middle of meditation.
