The cobblestone alley stretching through the old town of Patan was flanked on both sides by old brick buildings. A father was walking down one of these alleys with his young daughter by his side. On the other side of the road, there were some women sitting on the ground chatting, and I saw a motorcycle parked.

Here, the front of the houses seemed to be the place where the locals are socializing with the neighbors. I could see locals socializing with the neighbors in front of every doorway here and there. No matter what time of the day I saw them, they were always talking, and it seemed as if they had been chatting all day. If I could understand Nepali, I would be able to understand what the locals were talking about, which would surely make my trip more enjoyable.
